The population density was {{convert|5,875.1|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 14,548 housing units at an average density of {{convert|2,246.2|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The ethnic makeup of the area was 38.1% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 24.0% [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race, 23.2% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 10.7% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.0% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.5% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], 0.2% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 2.9% from two or more races.

There were 14,142 households, out of which 36.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.5% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 12.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.2% were non-families. 24.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.21.

In the area, the population was spread out, with 26.6% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 35.4% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 7.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 90.9 males. For every 100 females age 21 and over, there were 87.7 males.
