===Optical storage and optoelectronics===
Varying compositions of [[GeSbTe]] ("GST alloys") and [[AgInSbTe|Ag- and In- doped Sb<sub>2</sub>Te]] ("AIST alloys"), being examples of [[phase-change material]]s, are widely used in rewritable [[optical disc]]s and [[phase-change memory]] devices. By applying heat, they can be switched between amorphous (glassy) and [[crystalline]] states.
