McDonnell Douglas acquired [[Microdata Corporation]] in 1983. The corporation also produced the Sovereign (later M7000) series of systems in the UK, which used the Sovereign operating system developed in the UK and which was not based on [[Pick operating system|Pick]], unlike the "Reality" family of systems listed above.
