It has several railroad terminals and a small airport. In January 2015, with Russia now in control, the contract for the construction of the bridge was awarded to [[Arkady Rotenberg]]'s [[Stroygazmontazh|S.G.M. Group]]. In May 2015 construction commenced, and the road section of the bridge was opened to traffic in May 2018.
