In 1990, Turner returned to practising law, this time working for Miller Thomson LLP, while he continued serving as an MP for another three years. He eventually became head of the firm’s scholarships program. Turner, accompanied by his former aide and longtime friend Marc Kealey,<ref name=":4">{{Cite web |last=Kealey |first=Marc |date=October 6, 2020 |title=JOHN N.
