In the 2010 census, 97.2% of the Indianapolis population was reported as one race: 61.8% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 27.5% [[African American|Black or African American]], 2.1% [[Asian American|Asian]] (0.4% Burmese, 0.4% Indian, 0.3% Chinese, 0.3% Filipino, 0.1% Korean, 0.1% Vietnamese, 0.1% Japanese, 0.1% Thai, 0.1% other Asian); 0.3% [[Native Americans in the United States|American Indian]], and 5.5% as other. In 2010, the median age for Indianapolis was 33.7 years. Age distribution for the city's inhabitants was 25% under the age of 18; 4.4% were between 18 and 21; 16.3% were age 21 to 65; and 13.1% were age 65 or older.<ref name=Factfinder2/> For every 100 females, there were 93 males. The 2010 census reported 332,199 households in Indianapolis, with an average household size of 2.42 and an average family size of 3.08.<ref name=Factfinder2/> Of the total households, 59.3% were family households, with 28.2% of these including the family's own children under the age of 18; 36.5% were husband-wife families; 17.2% had a female householder (with no husband present) and 5.6% had a male householder (with no wife present). The remaining 40.7% were non-family households.<ref name=Factfinder2/> {{As of|2010}}, 32% of the non-family households included individuals living alone, 8.3% of these households included individuals age 65 years of age or older.<ref name=Factfinder2/>
