Hurley was served by the [[Chicago & North Western]] Flambeau Line with the Flambeau 400 train between Chicago and Ashland, and the [[Soo Line Railroad|Soo Line]] Railroad [formerly [[Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad|Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad]]] between Minneapolis and Bessemer. The [[Duluth, South Shore and Atlantic Railway]] Line (now [[Canadian National Railway]]) skirted Hurley a few miles to the north. This line originally ran from Superior to Sault Ste Marie.
