Until 1967, Crawfordsville was served by passenger trains of the [[Monon Railroad]], which provided service to Chicago, Lafayette, Greencastle, and Bloomington. The Monon merged into the [[Louisville and Nashville Railroad]] in 1971.

Currently, Crawfordsville is served by [[Amtrak|Amtrak's]] thrice weekly New York–Chicago ''[[Cardinal (train)|Cardinal]]''. The Chicago-bound ''Cardinal'' stops in Crawfordsville at 7:28&nbsp;am on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, while the New York-bound ''Cardinal'' stops at 10:30&nbsp;pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
