*[[Great Lakes Storm of 1913]] November 7–10, 1913. "The White Hurricane" of 1913 was the deadliest and most destructive [[natural disaster]] ever to hit the [[Great Lakes Basin]] in the Midwestern United States and the Canadian province of [[Ontario]]. It produced {{convert|90|mph|km/h|abbr=on|}} wind gusts, [[ocean surface wave|waves]] over {{convert|35|ft|m|abbr=on|}} high, and [[whiteout (weather)|whiteout]] [[snowsquall]]s. It killed more than 250 people, destroyed 19 ships, and stranded 19 others.
