In 1992, three Israeli diplomats were killed in the bombing of the Israeli Embassy which left 29 people dead and 240 wounded. Two years later, another bombing took place at the [[Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina|AMIA]] Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, killing 85 people and wounding 300.
