Wallace is home to hundreds of Veterans of the [[United States Armed Forces]]. Wallace was the location of an [[National Guard Armory|armory]] and detachment of the [[North Carolina National Guard]]'s 1st Battalion, [[120th Infantry Regiment (United States)|120th Infantry Regiment]]. On June 29, 2016, the armory was transferred to the town of Wallace.
