In celebration of his 80th birthday in July 2020, Starr organised a live-streamed concert featuring appearances by many of his friends and collaborators including McCartney, Walsh, [[Ben Harper]], [[Dave Grohl]], [[Sheryl Crow]], [[Sheila E.]] and [[Willie Nelson]]. On 16 December 2020, Starr released the song "Here's to the Nights". An accompanying video was released on 18 December. The song of peace, love and friendship was written by [[Diane Warren]] and features a group of his friends, including McCartney, [[Joe Walsh]], [[Corinne Bailey Rae]], [[Eric Burdon]], [[Sheryl Crow]], [[Finneas]], [[Dave Grohl]], [[Ben Harper]], [[Lenny Kravitz]], [[Jenny Lewis]], [[Steve Lukather]], [[Chris Stapleton]] and [[Yola (singer)|Yola]]. On 7 February 2022, Starr announced his intention to return to touring with his band for the first time since 2019.
