A whimsical comedy, ''[[Rio das Mortes (film)|Rio das Mortes]]'' follows two young men without prospects who try to raise money to realize their dream of finding a buried treasure in [[Peru]] using a map of the [[Rio das Mortes]]. Based on an idea by [[Volker Schlondorff]], ''Rio das Mortes'' was shot in January 1970 following ''[[Why Does Herr R.
