Argyle later entered into [[The Football Combination]], before withdrawing from the Combination in mid-season in 1981–82, for financial reasons. In 1982 the side entered the [[Western Football League]], leaving at the end of the 1992–93 season. The club had also entered a team in the [[South Western League]], but withdrew from that competition after one season in 2007.
