The Bohemian (Czech) recension is derived from the Moravian recension and was used in the Czech lands until 1097. It was written in [[Glagolitic]], which is posited to have been carried over to Bohemia even before the death of Methodius.{{sfn|Huntley|1993|p=30}} It is preserved in religious texts (e.g. Prague Fragments), legends and glosses and shows substantial influence of the [[West Slavic languages|Western Slavic vernacular]] in Bohemia at the time.
