New Orleans was catastrophically affected by what Raymond B. Tens of thousands of residents who had remained were rescued or otherwise made their way to shelters of last resort at the [[Mercedes-Benz Superdome|Louisiana Superdome]] or the [[New Orleans Morial Convention Center]].
