== Similar lymphoid organs ==
The [[spleen]] and the [[tonsil]]s are the larger secondary lymphoid organs that serve somewhat similar functions to lymph nodes, though the spleen filters blood cells rather than lymph. The tonsils are sometimes erroneously referred to as lymph nodes.
