The Lafayette Browns (1907), Lafayette Hubs (1920), [[Lafayette White Sox]] (1934β1942), Lafayette Bulls (1948β1953), Lafayette Oilers (1954β1957), [[Lafayette Drillers]] (1975β1976) and [[Bayou Bullfrogs]] (1998β2000) all played in Lafayette. The teams were members of the [[Florida Complex League#Gulf Coast League|Gulf Coast League]] (1907), [[Louisiana State League]] (1920), [[Evangeline League]] (1934β1942, 1948β1957), [[Texas League]] (1975β1976) and [[Texas-Louisiana League]] (1998β2000). Lafayette teams played at Parkdale Park (1934β1942), Clark Field (1945β1957, 1975β1976) and [[M. L. [[Jeff Hennessy]]'s gymnastics program at the [[University of Louisiana at Lafayette]] popularized the sport and produced more world champions β including his daughter, [[Leigh Hennessy]] β than any other location. Jeff Hennessy was also instrumental in getting trampoline into the Olympic Games, and several athletes from [[Trampoline & Tumbling Express]] in Lafayette have represented the United States at the Olympics.
