=== Eukaryotic supergroups === {{anchor|Kingdoms of the Eukaryota}} {{Main|Supergroup (biology)}} In 2004, a review article by Simpson and Roger noted that the Protista were "a [[Wastebasket taxon|grab-bag]] for all [[eukaryote]]s that are not animals, plants or fungi".
