On the northwest side of the city and almost adjacent to the site of historic Fort Seward is The [[Anne Carlsen]] Center North Campus<ref>{{cite web |title=Anne Carlsen Center Home |url=https://annecarlsen.org/ |website=Anne Carlsen Center |publisher=Anne Carlsen Center |access-date=December 31, 2020}}</ref> (formerly known as the "Crippled Children's School"). In 2024, Anne Carlsen moved operations to the Ballantyne Berg Campus in southwest Jamestown. A privately funded residential school, it has long been one of the country's leading centers for treatment and education of severely handicapped children.
