They also vote on Front End Budgeted (FEB) organizational budgets each year and allocate contingency funds.{{Citation needed|date=October 2024}} Founded in 2003, SafeRides originated as a program run by the SGA. Inspired by a program at [[Texas A&M]], the organization is a student-led non-profit: unpaid students drive students home at night at no charge. The JMU Student Ambassadors work alongside the [[College admissions|Admissions]] Office to offer student-led tours for prospective students. Formerly, the Ambassadors were also associated with the Alumni Office until the GOLD Network was established. The JMU Speech Team has received awards.
