The [[Florida Department of Juvenile Justice]] [[Florida School for Boys|Dozier School for Boys]], closed in 2011 after extensive investigations of abuse, was located in Marianna.

Sheriff Donald L. Edenfield is the current Sheriff of Jackson County and serves an area of over {{convert|955|mi2}}.
