* February 3, 1969: Flight 7 was hijacked to Cuba. * March 17, 1970: Both pilots of [[Eastern Air Lines Shuttle Flight 1320]], a DC-9-31 carrying 68 passengers and 5 crew, were shot by a deranged hijacker. The first officer was able to take the hijacker's gun and shoot him three times before succumbing to his own wounds. Despite gunshot wounds in both arms, the captain was able to fight off the wounded hijacker and land the aircraft safely.
