In August 2010, Tarrant was awarded a place on [[Birmingham Walk of Stars|Birmingham's Walk of Stars]], and made an honorary citizen of [[Birmingham]]. On receiving the award, he said, "I love it here. I'm an honorary Brummie. I owe everything that has happened in my career to my start in Birmingham with ATV and ''Tiswas''.
