Murray stated in a 1984 interview: "I'm definitely a religious person, but it doesn't have much to do with [[Catholic Church|Catholicism]] anymore. In a 2014 interview, Murray expressed affection for the [[Tridentine Mass|Traditional Latin Mass]] and expressed concerns about some of the changes within the [[Mass of Paul VI]]: "I'm not sure all those changes were right. I tend to disagree with what they call the new Mass. I think we lost something by losing the Latin. Now if you go to a Catholic Mass even just in [[Harlem]] it can be in Spanish, it can be in [[Languages of Ethiopia|Ethiopian]], it can be in any number of languages.
