The city's population was in constant decline from the 1930s through 2010, but losses stopped that decade, and it saw growth as of 2020. The racial makeup of the city was 69.80% [[White (U.S. census)|White]], 14.90% [[African American (U.S. census)|African American]], 0.40% [[Native American (U.S. census)|Native American]], 2.4% [[Asian (U.S. census)|Asian]], 0.20% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. census)|Pacific Islander]], and 4.60% from two or more races.
