In 1994, two years after Fey joined Chicago's [[The Second City|Second City]] improvisational theatre troupe, she began dating [[Jeff Richmond]], a pianist who later became Second City's musical director and then a composer on ''30 Rock''. They married in a [[Marriage in the Eastern Orthodox Church|Greek Orthodox ceremony]] on June 3, 2001. Fey has a scar a few inches long on the left side of her chin and cheek.
