==Government== The current mayor, Jerome Rice, was elected in 2021. Spartanburg operates under a [[city manager]] form of government in which the mayor and six city council members have equal votes. Council members represent districts within the city and the mayor is elected at large. It is across the street from the [[Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium]].
