The impacts of solar flare radiation on Mars are relevant to [[Exploration of Mars|exploration]] and the search for [[life on Mars|life on the planet]]. Models of its atmosphere indicate that the most energetic solar flares previously recorded may have provided acute doses of radiation that would have been almost harmful or lethal to mammals and other [[higher organism]]s on Mars's surface.
