Due to [[voice acting in Japan]] having its own distinct culture, audio dramas continue to be popular in Japan, where they are now primarily released on disc as "drama CDs" ({{lang|ja|ドラマCD}}). They are also referred to in Japanese as "voice dramas" ({{lang|ja|ボイスドラマ}}).
