Nebraska sponsored a men's aquatics program from 1921 until 2001. Since 2001, the university has sponsored only a women's team. The team has been coached by Pablo Morales since 2001.

Nebraska has hosted meets at the [[Bob Devaney Sports Center|Devaney Center Natatorium]] since its construction in 1976.
