These are also the names used in the [[Indian national calendar]] for the newly redefined months. Purushottam Maas or Adhik Maas ([[Romanisation of Hindi|translit.]] ''{{lang|hi-Latn|adhika}}'' = 'extra', ''{{lang|hi-Latn|māsa}}'' = 'month') is an extra month in the [[Hindu calendar]] that is inserted to keep the [[Lunar calendar|lunar]] and [[solar calendar]]s aligned. "Purushottam" is an epithet of [[Vishnu]], to whom the month is dedicated.
