Liverpool is one of the six constituent boroughs of the [[Liverpool City Region]]. The [[Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region|Mayor of the Liverpool City Region]] is directly every four years by residents of those six boroughs and oversees the [[Liverpool City Region Combined Authority]]. The Combined Authority is the top-tier administrative body for the local governance of the city region and is tasked with taking major strategic decisions on issues such as transport and investment, economic development, employment and skills, tourism, culture, housing and physical infrastructure.
