Murray is an avid [[Quinnipiac University]] basketball fan, where his son served as head of basketball operations, and he is a regular fixture at home games. He is a fixture at home games of those teams when in his native Chicago. As a Chicago native, Murray appeared at the 50th annual [[Chicago Air & Water Show]] in August 2008. Murray's son, [[Luke Murray (basketball)|Luke]], is an assistant coach for the [[UConn Huskies men's basketball]] team.
