It is now within the metropolitan county of the [[West Midlands (county)|West Midlands]].]] Worcestershire contained numerous [[exclaves]], which were areas of land cut off from the main geographical area of Worcestershire and completely surrounded by the nearby counties of Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and [[Oxfordshire]].
