Over 25 million tonnes of freight were transported by rail in 2007.<ref>http://www.mecon.gov.ar/actividad_ied.xls{{Dead link|date=July 2018 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=no }}</ref> Currently, five carriers operate freight rail services in Argentina:
