While in the AFL, the Houston Oilers was in the same division as the Buffalo Bills, but were moved to the AFC Central division following the NFL-AFL merger. Their rivalry remained strong into the 1980s and 1990s with Warren Moon leading the Oilers against [[Jim Kelly]] and the Bills. Titans owner Bud Adams was fined $250,000 by the league following the 41–17 Titans win in which he [[The finger|obscenely gestured]] toward the Bills sideline.
