However, in Antillean Caribbean forms, word-final {{IPAblink|r}} in infinitives and non-infinitives is often in free variation with word-final {{IPAblink|l}}, which may be [[Delateralization|delateralized]] to {{IPAblink|j}}, forming a rising diphthong with the preceding vowel (as in ''dar'' {{IPA|[daj]}} 'to give').
