According to the 2023 census, the population of Punjab, Pakistan was 127,688,922.<ref name="punjab2023"/> With 124,462,897 adherents, [[Islam in Pakistan|Muslims]] comprise the largest religious group, with a [[Sunni]] [[Hanafi]] majority and a [[Shia]] [[Ithna 'ashariyah]] minority, forming approximately 97.75 percent of the population.<ref name="punjab2023"/> The largest non-Muslim minority is [[Christianity in Pakistan|Christians]] with 2,458,924 adherents, forming roughly 1.93 percent of the population.<ref name="punjab2023"/> [[Hinduism in Pakistan|Hindus]] form 249,716 people, comprising approximately 0.20 percent of the population.<ref name="punjab2023"/> The other minorities include [[Sikhs]] and Parsis.<ref name="punjab2023"/>
