Cole performed in 1956 for President [[Dwight D. Cole was also present at the [[1960 Democratic National Convention|Democratic National Convention]] in 1960 to support Senator [[John F. Kennedy]]. Cole was among the dozens of entertainers recruited by [[Frank Sinatra]] to perform at the Kennedy Inaugural gala in 1961. Cole consulted with Kennedy and his successor, [[Lyndon B. Johnson]], on civil rights.
