===Proposed revival of Midwest Express brand (2017–present)===

In August 2017, reports surfaced that there were ongoing efforts to revive the Midwest brand. On August 9, 2019, it was announced that [[Elite Airways]] had signed an operating agreement to provide the initial aircraft, flight crews, and maintenance service for Midwest Express.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.jsonline.com/story/money/2019/08/06/midwest-express-airline-takes-next-step-toward-flying-again/1931377001/|title=Midwest Express enters into agreement with carrier as process continues to begin service in Milwaukee|website=Milwaukee Journal Sentinel}}</ref> On August 28, 2019, the airline announced its initial route network,<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.wtmj.com/news/first-new-midwest-express-plane-lands-flights-to-come-soon/1113851410|title=First new Midwest Express plane lands; flight destinations announced|first=Jay|last=Sorgi|date=August 28, 2019|website=WTMJ}}</ref> which were to include Cincinnati, Omaha, and Grand Rapids, with service to commence by the year end.

In early May 2020, Republic (RPA) aircraft were being observed via ADS-B virtual radar being operated on Republic routes using scheduled RPA flight numbers but with the Midwest Airlines (MEP) prefix.
