From 1956 to 1958, Lexington was home to the [[Lexington Red Sox]], who were a [[minor league baseball]] team. Playing at the Dawson County Fairgrounds, the Red Sox were members of [[Nebraska State League]] as an affiliate of the [[Boston Red Sox]].
