The Iredell County Sheriff's Office was founded in 1789, in the year after the county was formed from Rowan County.<ref name="History">{{cite web|url=http://www.iredellsheriff.com/693/History|title=Iredell County Sheriff's Office, History|accessdate=August 25, 2019}}</ref> The [[Sheriff]] of Iredell County is Darren E. Campbell (Republican), elected in December 2014.
