===International Polar Weeks===
To provide a platform for a continued focus on the polar regions, the IPY International Programme Office organised Polar Weeks with the theme "What Happens at the Poles Affects Us All" in October 2009 and March 2010.<ref>{{Cite web |url=http://ipy.arcticportal.org/feature/item/1113 |title=International Polar Weeks |access-date=2016-11-29 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160803125042/http://ipy.arcticportal.org/feature/item/1113 |archive-date=2016-08-03 |url-status=dead }}</ref>
