==Legacy== In 1990, [[Stuart Timmons]] published ''The Trouble with Harry Hay'', a biography based on three years of research.{{sfn|Timmons|1990|p=xv}} Timmons described Hay as "the father of gay liberation".{{sfn|Timmons|1990|p=xiii}} The 2002 documentary film ''Hope Along the Wind: The Life of Harry Hay'', directed by Eric Slade, garnered critical acclaim.
