As of March 2011, there were a total of 36,280 registered voters in East Orange, of which 21,646 (59.7%) were registered as [[Democratic Party (United States)|Democrats]], 396 (1.1%) were registered as [[Republican Party (United States)|Republicans]] and 14,228 (39.2%) were registered as [[Unaffiliated (New Jersey)|Unaffiliated]].
