==Ethnic groups==

Albania is inhabited mostly by Albanians. In the 2011 official census, 97.8% of those who disclosed their identity were Albanians (82.58% overall), while 2.3% stated other ethnicities (1.9% overall).<ref>{{cite web|title=Population and Housing Census 2011|url=https://www.instat.gov.al/media/3058/main_results__population_and_housing_census_2011.pdf|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200826201945/https://www.instat.gov.al/media/3058/main_results__population_and_housing_census_2011.pdf|url-status=dead|archive-date=2020-08-26}}</ref> Albania recognizes [[Minorities of Albania|nine national minorities]]. Since the 21st century, Albania has also witness a significant settlement of foreign expats into the country, such as [[Italians]], [[Chinese people|Chinese]], [[Turkish people|Turks]], [[Bengalis]], [[Americans]], [[Portuguese people|Portuguese]]<ref>{{Cite web |title=Observatório da Emigração |url=https://observatorioemigracao.pt/np4/paises.html?id=6 |access-date=2023-07-18 |website=observatorioemigracao.pt |language=pt |archive-date=18 July 2023 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230718135216/https://observatorioemigracao.pt/np4/paises.html?id=6 |url-status=live }}</ref> and other foreign workers.
