==Economy==

Historically, Como's economy was heavily reliant on industry, particularly its world-renowned silk production. As a result, manufacturing is no longer the dominant economic force. Como has become increasingly integrated into the [[Milan metropolitan area]], with a significant portion of its workforce employed in the [[service industry]]. Since the late 1990s, tourism has become increasingly vital to Como's economy. Local businesses have shifted towards catering to tourists, with a proliferation of bars, restaurants, and hotels.
