Director [[Nicolas Winding Refn]] is a  fan of ''Cobra''. In Refn's cult film ''[[Drive (2011 film)|Drive]]'' the main character has a toothpick in his mouth in some scenes; this is Refn's homage to the opening scene where Stallone has a matchstick in his mouth.
