Outside of the Winter Garden lies a sizeable [[yacht]] harbor on the Hudson known as North Cove. The building's original developer was [[Olympia and York]] of [[Toronto]], [[Ontario]]. It used to be named the World Financial Center, but in 2014, the complex was given its current name following the completion of extensive renovations. The World Financial Center complex was built by [[Olympia and York]] between 1982 and 1988;<ref name="great" /> it was damaged in the September 11 attacks but later repaired.
